Well getting ready these last 2 weeks has been sooooo very hectic. Trying to get things settled into the correct place, like whether to put it in storage, or pack it to take or pack it to send on the rail container, or do we really want it any more. Trying to get in all our visiting, last minute details to make sure are done (everything from school supplies to making sure we have enough feminine products!) and shopping (I even said I had had enough of shopping). We had to make sure that our "girls" that are renting our place were all set and that we left our house in the shape that we wanted them to get it in, so had to have some major work done to the pot bellied stove and chimney which put us back a bit. Little things that normally we just wouldn't think about. So though I have been done work, I sure haven't had time to miss it. Brent was done work last Friday and his coworkers got him a camera! It gave him a lot of pride to know that he will be missed! Tonight we had a chili supper with all our family, except Taylor who has gone to visit her Dad in Ontario for 3 weeks, and will spend some quality time with them. We will miss Christy, Taylor, Dallas, Amy, Nikki and Darel very much! Our dear friends Al and Sue came over for a visit and then we tried to sleep.
We want to thank everyone for the support as we go on our adventure, from family to coworkers and friends to church family. God Bless you all!

Hi! Our family attended Sunwest this morning and when we got home I looked up your blog. We have just returned (2 weeks ago!) from 6 months of volunteer work in South Africa with our two girls, aged 9 and 13. So, I was excited to see another family who is "taking the plunge" and leaving Canadian life behind for a while. We sure can relate to your hectic departure time and your feelings of saddness at leaving friends and family. Since you have just arrived, your will now be feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, and yet terribly excited! May God bless and protect you as you adjust and find your places of service. Although we don't know you, we will enjoy keeping up with your blog and will pray for you. We also kept a blog and the folks at home loved it, so keep writing when you can!
